The How Cute is That! Bucket Bag PDF Pattern by Jo-Lydia's Attic includes sewing instructions for making a bucket bag from fabric scraps, fat quarters, or 2 1/2" wide strips (Bali Pops)!  Finished size: 11" H x 6" W x 6" D.

Making the machine-quilted and machine-pieced panels for this cute little bag is deceivingly simple--and joining the diagonal panels to make the fun bucket shape is easier than it might look. You will make and join two quilted print and two coordinating pieced strips for the bag. The bag is lined as you go because you quilt the plain and pieced panels to the lining/ backing fabric before sewing them into the bucket shape. The seams inside the bag and the upper edge are bound for a clean finish. If you prefer, you can opt for the easier lined version, without any binding. After joining and finishing the seams, your bag is ready for straps, upper-edge binding, and button trim. Binding the upper edge, with its inner points and outer corners is the only slightly tricky part of the finishing but the steps are clearly illustrated in the instructions.

Materials list:

  • 3/8 yd of a multi-color fabric
  • Assorted Prints for the Pieced Panels: 2-1/2" x 10" strip of each of 8 different coordinating prints for the pieced panels; cut each one into (2) 2-1/2” x 5” strips, for a total of 16.
