Hidden Treasure Tote PDF Pattern by The Creative Thimble

The Hidden Treasure Tote PDF Pattern by Laura Martell of The Creative Thimble includes sewing instructions for creating a tote with two large front pockets and three zippered outside back pockets. Inside this midsized tote you will find a mini sized purse for all your essentials that stays safely secured in place until you want to take it out for a night on the town. Don’t worry about changing purses for the evening; everything you need is already in place in your hidden mini purse. Remove the mini purse to find a shoulder length strap tucked inside a back pocket.  This mini purse has 2 outside pockets and closes at the top with a zipper. Place it back in the tote and you are ready for more shopping tomorrow. Finished sizes: 17" W x 12" H, purse - 7" W x 8-1/2" H.  Templates are included for the front flap and a triangle template for the bottom of the bag.

Materials needed:

• Six 1/2 yard cuts of coordinating fabrics (You can use fewer than 6 or more fabrics for your tote).  Example: Three fabrics = 1 yard of each fabric
• Decor Bond interfacing - (44" wide) 2 yards
• Handles - 1 1/2 yards of 1" wide purchased webbing (only if you are not making fabric handles)
• Zippers - One to three zippers for the back of the tote (The back zippers can be from 4" to 14" long and match or coordinate with pattern piece #1.  If you are cutting the zippers, they need to be plastic/nylon).
• 3/4" Magnetic snap
• Four - 1" rectangle rings or 1" D-Rings (optional)
• Template plastic or card stock - 8 1/2" x 11" sheet
• 12" of "sew in" Velcro (1/2" to 3/4" wide) to match the mini hidden purse
• 1/2 yard of 1/4" piping for around the flap (optional)
