Making an adjustable handle for your bag gives it more functionality - you can either carry your handbag as a shoulder bag or wear it cross body so that your hands are free! Follow these simple steps and you will have an adjustable handle for your bag in no time at all!
Start with nylon webbing 1" wide x 52" long - this will ensure that you will have a long enough strap.
- Thread your handle up through one side of your buckle and over the middle (sliding) bar and down under the second side of your buckle. Fold under this raw edge and sew across several times.
- Run the remaining end of your handle with the raw edge through the “0” or “D” ring on the left side of your handbag and back up toward the buckle.
- Run this raw edge up through your buckle and over the sliding center bar just like Step #1.Thread the raw handle edge through the “0” or “D” ring on the other side of your handbag (the right side) and fold this handle end under so that the raw edge does not show. Sew across this edge twice.
- Loop your handle through the “O” or “D” rings on each side of your handbag and fold under the ends so that there are no raw ends and sew across twice, securing the handle in the rings.
