The Sew 'N' Go is a quilted handbag pattern that has instructions for you to make your own double sided quilted fabric or
purchase already made double-faced fabric! Use a coordinating print to show off the shoulder length straps and upper band!
There are instructions for lots of inside pockets and the finished size is 11"H x 13" W (upper edge of bag) x 4 1/2"D.
- 1 yard Print #1 for bag exterior, exterior
pockets, and binding for seams and interior
pocket edges

1 yard Print #2 for the bag interior, interior
upper band, and the backing for the exterior
pockets
- 7/8 yard contrasting Print #3 for the inside
divided pockets, exterior upper band, straps,
and binding strips for the bag interior
Note: If you prefer, you can substitute 1"-wide
cotton, nylon, or polyester webbing. You will
need 2-1/4 yards for this option.
- (1) 15” x 21” rectangle and (1) 21” square
of thin batting
Note: If your batting is too thick or too compact
(like poly fleece), the bag layers will be too
bulky and stitching will be difficult where there
are multiple layers, especially the seam around
the inside of the bag around the bottom edge
- (1) package coordinating extra-wide bias tape
for finishing the inside seam around the bottom
of the bag or cut 1-3/4”-wide bias strips from
fabric leftovers and join to make a 40”-long strip
7" x 15" rectangle of cotton flannel for filler
in outer pockets
- (2) 2-1/2" x 40" strips of medium-weight
fusible interfacing for the straps
Note: You won’t need this if you are using 1”-
wide webbing for the straps.
- 20” square of lightweight fusible interfacing for
the upper band and inside pocket reinforcement
- Optional: 1 magnetic snap closure
- Optional: 2 packages jumbo rickrack for the
band, pocket, and strap trim
