This Two Pocket Tote Pattern is a sturdy and fashionable bag made from repurposed men's jeans! This tote is perfect for everyday use and gives instructions for using the back pockets of the jeans as outside pockets for your tote bag. Finished size is approximately
10"H x 13"W, excluding the handle.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- One pair of worn denim jeans (the
sample used men’s Levi’s, size 38)*
- 1⁄3 yard of fabric for the lining and inner
pocket
- Two 1-1⁄4” diameter assorted buttons (no
larger than the width of the waistband)
- Two 3/4” diameter assorted buttons for
stacking on top of larger buttons
- Denim needle for machine, seam ripper,
thread for use with denim
* Larger men’s denim jeans work better for this
project because the legs are wider and the pockets
are larger. Also the larger the waist size is, the longer
the handle. Our waistband used for this project was
39” long removed from size 38” waist jeans. If you
use smaller size jeans, you will need to adjust the length of the handle accordingly.
