The String-Along Backpack Pattern has instructions to make a lightweight and easy to fold up drawstring backpack with a secure zippered pocket. Finished size is 14" wide x 19" high - perfect to carry that extra jacket!
You will need: 42" wide quilting weight cotton (directional prints work)
- Outer bag: 3/4 yard
- Lining: 1 yard (coordinating print)
- Drawstrings: 4 1/2 yards of 3/16th cotton clothesline or 1/4" cording
- Wonder Under Fusible Web 17: wide: 1 1/2 yards (Do not substitute!)
- Nylon zipper: 16" or longer (can be trimmed)
- Large safety pin
- This pattern is intended for rotary cutting but it can also be made with ruler and scissors.
