The Phoebe Handbag Pattern is an elegant bag that can be carried everyday that is designed to showcase your favorite coordinating fabrics! This bag has instructions for a decorative ruffled panel on the front that is
embellished with self covered buttons. This ruffled panel can be used as a pocket and also conceals a zippered pocket that keeps smaller objects secure. There is lots of room inside the Phoebe Handbag so you can
organize your items and there are instructions for a firm base and a magnetic snap closure. The skill level is intermediate and the finished size is 14"W x 10"H x 5"D.
Materials Needed:
- Fabric (42" wide)
- 3/4 yard main fabric for bag body, bag top, straps, slip pocket
- 1 yard coordinating fabric for ruffled front panel, lining, front zipper pocket, inside zipper pocket, belt, contrast straps
Interfacing
- 3-1/4 yards fusible medium-weight (Pellon 931TD)
- 3/8 yard fusible light-weight (Pellon 911FF)
- 1/3 yard ultra firm sew-in (Pellon 70F Peltex)
- 1/3 yard fusible fleece (Thermolam Plus TP971F)
- Two polyester all-purpose zippers - one 12" or longer and one 9" or longer
- Six 3/4" self-cover buttons
- One 3/4" magnetic snap
The Phoebe Handbag Pattern has a total of 30 pages. There is a one page cover photo, 11 pages of instructions, photos, and illustrations, and 18 pages of pattern pieces (to be taped together).
