The Brief Encounter Bag Pattern by Charlie's Aunt has a unique and elegant curved shape with soft pleating on the front and back of the purse. There is a feminine,
stylized bow trim and this handbag can be made from either one or two contrasting fabrics. Depending on the fabric, this can either be a dressy bag or the perfect everyday
purse! Instructions are given to make a large inside pocket with a divider and the finished size is - Height 14” (35cm), Width 14” (35cm), Base width 3.5” (9cm).
Materials Needed: 2/3 yard (60cm) of 60” (154cm) wide or 1 yard (95cm) of 44” (112cm) wide exterior fabric
- To make with a contrast top and bow:
- 1/2 yard (45cm) of 60” (154cm) or3/4 yard (65cm) of 44” (112cm) wide main exterior fabric
- 1/4 yard (25cm) of 60” (154cm) or 1/3 yard of (112cm) wide contrast fabric
- For all combinations:
- 3/4 yard (65cm) of 44” (112cm) wide lining fabric
- 2/3 yard (50cm) of 44” (112cm) wide firm sew-in interfacing
- 2/3 yard (65cm) of 36” (92cm) wide fusible interfacing
- Piece of plastic canvas approx. 10” x 3” (25cm x 8cm)
- 1 magnetic snap
- You will also need:
- Sticky tape (to join pattern templates)
- Fabric marker pen, pencil or chalk
