The Saxted Green Satchel PDF purse pattern by Charlie's Aunt is a military style satchel, inspired by designs popular in the 1940's. This
bag is very roomy, practical and chic with a unique asymmetrical front pocket and flap. This purse pattern can be made with a purchased
strap or a made matching fabric strap and there are instructions for an additional interior pocket. Finished size is 13"H x 16"W x 2 1/2"D.

Materials needed:
- For whole bag including strap in one fabric:
- 1 yard (95cm) of 60” (154cm) wide or 1¼ yard (115cm) of 44” (112cm) wide fabric
- To make with a purchased strap, you will need:
- ¾ yard (70cm) of 60” (154cm) wide, or 1 yard (95cm) of 44” (112cm) wide fabric
- For all combinations, you will need:
- ¾ yard (70cm) of 44” (112cm) wide lining fabric
- ¾ yard (70cm) of 44” (112cm) wide firm sew-in interfacing (and optional of batting)
- 2/3 yard (65cm) of 36” (92cm) wide fusible interfacing
- 40” x 5” (105cm x 14cm) of fusible web (or interfacing)
- 1 magnetic snap
- 2 or 3 big buttons, or six small buttons
- For purchased handle:
- Long leather or vinyl strap ¾” (2cm) wide and approx. 36” (92cm) long
- Piece of fusible web approx. 5” x 4” (13 x 10cm) for tabs
