The Dorothy Clutch Bag Pattern is a retro clutch pattern inspired by the simple envelope ‘clutch’ bags of the early 1930’s. This clutch pattern is easy to construct and has a unique asymmetric flap and choice of a single large bow or vintage style cabbage rose and leaf, stitched on at an interesting angle. Instructions are also included for making the 1940's style cabbage rose trim! Finished size is approximately 7” (18cm) tall by 11½” (29cm) wide.
Materials Needed:

1/3 yd (30cm) of 54” (140cm) wide exterior fabric
- 1/3 yd (30cm) of 36” (92cm) wide lining fabric
- 1/3 yd (30cm) of 36” (92cm) wide sew-in craft interfacing
- 1/3 yd (30cm) of 36" (92cm) wide fusible interfacing for flap
- 2 pieces x 1½” (4cm) square of interfacing
- 1 magnetic snap set
- For the bow:
- 9” (23cm) by 18” (46cm) of exterior or contrast fabric for the bow
- 2” by 4” (5cm by 10cm) exactly of fusible web for bow centre
- For the rose:
- 16” x 7” (41 x 18cm) approx for the rose petals
- 7” x 7” (18 x 18cm) approx for the 2 leaves
