The Bawdsey Bag Pattern includes sewing instructions and pattern pieces for creating a bag with features that include front pleat detail adn an asymmetrical flap with contrast trim. Names after the east Suffolk village where radar research took place in the Second World War. This bag is a medium sized bag with a long strap for practical but stylish day wear. The Bawdsey is made with two toning or contrasting fabrics and is suitable for everthing from wool tweeds and corduroy to decorator fabrics. The lap back template double up as an interior pocket. Finished size: 9 1/2" H x 12 1/2" W x 3 1/2" D, with 41" strap length.
Materials Needed:
- 3/4 yd main exterior fabric for bag and strap
- 1/4 yd contrast fabric for lower flap front and strap underside
- 3/4 yd lining fabric for bag and interior pocket
- 2/3 yd firm sew-in interfacing for bag body/base and flap front
- 2/3 yd fusible interfacing for interior pocket, flap back and strap
- magnetic snap
- 2 buttons 1 1/4" diameter to trim the flap
- 5" x 10" piece of plastic canvas for base
