This handbag pattern is a retro design based on the 1950's Ford Anglia car and has a shaped front flap and a front pocket with a dart. This bag works best when trimmed with a vintage button and there is also instructions for an interior pocket. Finished size is 17" wide(43cm) x 13" high (33cm) x 5" deep (13cm).
This PDF pattern has 12 pages – 7 pages including photographs, detailed instructions and illustrations, plus 5 pages of full sized pattern templates which you must print on letter (A4) paper and cut out. As some of the templates are too large to fit on one sheet, you must tape the templates together where shown. Instructions for this are very clear.
Materials needed:
- 3/4 yard (70cm) of 54” (140cm) wide, or 1 yard of 44” (115cm) fabric
- 3/4 yard (70cm) of lining fabric
- 1 yard of firm sew-in interfacing
- 1/2 yard (50cm) of quilted calico/batting for added shaping (optional)
- 1/2 yard (50cm) of fusible interfacing
- 1 magnetic snap set
- Plastic canvas or similar to stiffen bag base
- 1 button
