Make your own roomy versatile backpack to carry your books, laptop, work stuff or use as a hands free baby bag! This pattern has
instructions for two adjustable backpack straps, a single top "quick grab" handle, a zippered front pocket under a magnetic top flap,
and a large inside compartment with a split pocket and pen slots. The finished size is a practical 12"H x 13 1/2"W x 3 1/3"D.
Suggested fabrics:
Exterior - heavy cotton canvas, sturdy cotton/linen blends, and/or upholstery fabrics.
Interior - cotton or poly blend canvas or twill. Stabilizer - medium
to heavy-weight stabilizer (NOT iron-on).
Materials list-
Fabric size: 55-60” wide or 44-45“ wide
- Exterior fabric: 1 yard for 55" wide fabric or 1 1/3 yards for 44" wide fabric
- Interior Fabric: 5/8 yard for 55" wide fabric or 7/8 yard for 44" wide fabric
- Stabilizer (22“ wide): 1 1/3 yards
- 1 zipper, 14” long
- 2 metal or plastic rectangle rings, 1 1/2” wide
- 2 metal or plastic sliders, 1 1/2” wide
- 2 magnetic snaps., 3/4” wide
