The Convertible/Reversible Bag Pattern by Cozy Nest Design is a very versatile pattern that can be converted into 4 different bag styles! Options include a clutch bag,
a rectangular shoulder bag, a bag with a flap pocket, and a smaller shoulder bag. The instructions are easy to understand and it is like getting 4 purse patterns in one!
Use either regular cotton fabric or try a laminated cotton - both work well with this design. There are bonus instructions to make a removable liner to keep the inside of your bag clean and this also allows easy changes between handbags.
This purse sewing pattern is recommended for the experienced intermediate sewer and the finished size is 9"W x 5 1/2 - 11"H x 2 1/2"D. (23cm x 14 - 28cm x 6cm)
Materials Needed:
- 3 - 14” (36cm) Zippers*
- 6 - 3/4" (2cm) D-rings - for straps (optional)
- 4 - 1" (2.5cm) Swivel hooks for strap
- 2 - 1" (2.5cm) Strap sliders (tri-glides) for strap
- 1 - Magnetic snap, 1" (2.5cm) piece hook and loop tape or
closure of choice for flap closure on Bag 2
- 20" (51cm) - 1/8" (3mm) cotton piping cord
- 1 - 10 x 9” (25x23cm) piece of Heavy-weight stabilizer (to
stiffen bottom and flap)
- Heavy-weight needle
- Teflon foot (optional but recommended for laminated cotton)
- Temporary marking pen
- Hand sewing needle
- Basic sewing and cutting equipment
- Clips or painter's tape (optional-for use with laminated cotton)
* Purchase 2 zippers that coordinate with the Bag 1 fabrics, and 1 that coordinates with the Bag Fabric 2 fabrics.

This bag pattern has a total of 21 pages. There are 14 pages of instructions and illustrations, 4 pages of pattern pieces (to be taped together), 1 page of a cutting outline. and 2 pages of convenient cutting labels (2 pages of cutting labels (can be made into stickers by printing to1 x 2 5/8"mailing labels)
