The Marsham Messenger Bag Pattern includes sewing instructions and pattern templates for creating a bag inspired by the 1940s 'make-do-and-mend' era. This strikingly simple messenger bag is pieced together with three contrasting fabircs to give the homespun look with infinite possibilities, with features that include an interior patch pocket. The Marsham Messenger Bag can be made in anything from traditional wool tweed paired with corduroy or moleskin to cotton decorator fabrics, and is the ideal size for everyday use.
Finished size: 13" W x 11" H x 2 1/2" D, with 41" strap length.
Materials Needed:
- 2/3 yd exterior fabric 1 for bag back, front center panel and flap
- 44" of exterior fabric 2 for left side panel adn one strap piece
- 44" of exterior fabric 3 for front right side panel and one strap piece
- 2/3 yd lining fabric for bag lining and interior pocket
- 3/4 yd firm sew-in interfacing for bag body and upper flap
- 1/2 yd fusible interfacing for under flap, interior pocket, plus both strap pieces
- magnetic snap
- A selection of buttons of your choice to trim the flap
