The Olive Swing Bag pattern by Betz White has instructions for a versatile shoulder bag that is reversible and can be made with either new fabric or vintage pillow cases for a retro look. Instructions are also included for a sunglasses case and the finished size is 16" W x 10" H x 3" D for the bag with a 16" shoulder drop and 7" x 4" x 1" for the eyeglasses case.
Materials Needed:
- BAG: 3/4 yd each of 45" wide main fabric and lining fabric or 2 vintage pillowcases (approximately 20" x 30")
- 1 1/2 yd of 20" woven fusible interfacing (for use with lighter weight fabrics)
- One package of Extra Wide Double Fold Bias Tape in coordinating colors (3 yds, 1/2" wide)
- 4 buttons 1 to 1 1/4" in diameter
- SUNGLASSES CASE: Leftover fabric or pillowcase scraps from making the Olive Swing Bag (or two 9" x 11" rectangles in complementary fabrics)
- One 9" x 11" piece of fusible fleece or batting
- One 3/4" magnetic snap
- One 3/4" button (optional)
